Chain Length Guide

Two minutes with a mirror, and you'll never guess a length again. Chain lengths are measured end to end, clasp included.

Where each length sits

  • 14" — Choker. Rests against the base of the neck. Best on open necklines.
  • 16" — Collarbone. Sits at the collarbone; the most versatile length for pendants.
  • 18" — Classic. Falls just below the collarbone. Our default, and the safest gift length.
  • 20" — Matinee. Reaches the top of the bust. Suits crew necks and layering as the longer chain.

How to measure

Take a chain you already love and measure it flat, end to end. No chain? Wrap a soft tape (or a piece of string) around your neck where you want the pendant to rest, and add 5 cm (2") for comfortable drape.

Layering rule of thumb

Keep 2" (5 cm) between chains — a 16" and an 18" is the pairing that never argues.

Still unsure? Size up. A longer chain can be worked with; a choker that chokes cannot.
